- Check the packaging print quality. Genuine packs have crisp printing and correct spelling. Fakes often have blurry logos, off-colours, or odd fonts.
- Look for the watermark. Real RAW papers have the crisscross watermark visible when held to light. Many fakes skip it or print it badly.
- Feel the gum line. Genuine natural gum is even and sticks with light moisture. Fake gum is patchy or overly shiny.
- Burn test. Authentic papers burn slow and even. If it races down one side, it's the wrong paper — or a fake one.
