Where to Smoke Weed in Phuket — Bars, Beaches & the Rules
Beaches, bars, hotel balconies, back streets — where can you actually spark up in Phuket without stress? Here's the real answer.

Phuket is one of the easiest islands in Asia to buy weed on. Where to smoke it is a slightly different question. Here's the breakdown.
Licensed cannabis bars — the easy answer
Bars like Good Kush Bar are built for exactly this. You buy inside, you smoke inside, someone brings you a drink. No stress about tourist police, no dodgy looks from restaurant staff, no wondering if you're breaking a rule. Kata, Karon and Patong all have several. Kata has us.
Your hotel or villa
Most private villas are fine. Boutique guest houses in Karon and Kata are usually chill — ask at check-in. Big-chain hotels almost always ban smoking of any kind indoors, and a lot ban it on balconies too. Read the fine print or you'll cop a cleaning fee.
The beaches — don't
Kata, Karon, Patong, Nai Harn — all public. Smoking cannabis in a public space is technically a public nuisance offence and Phuket police do enforce it, especially near tourist zones during the day. Sunset on a quiet stretch is a grey area but not worth the risk.
Temples, family areas, night markets
Never. Doesn't matter how empty it looks. Temples are sacred, family areas are enforced, and getting caught at a night market is the fastest way to ruin a holiday.
The move
Buy from a licensed bar, smoke on-site, then head to the beach for the sunset already sorted. That's how the locals do it.
